The couple has 2 children together, ages 6 & 4. She is 50 pounds overweight; her husband is 35 pounds overweight, and their children are each 10 – 15 pounds overweight. They eat cereal or pastries for breakfast, lunch is usually fruit and peanut butter sandwiches, chips and soda. Dinner is either frozen, out of a box or is fast food. They hardly drink any water and when they do, they drink directly from their unfiltered tap. What would be the first course of action for this client to focus on?

On the weekends, they attend the opera or a play and catch up on their personal emails. They both love the life they have created together. They are also competitive with each other. The man has started having digestive issues, such as heartburn. He has been taking Tums for this symptom. They are seeing you to get ideas on how they can maintain their lifestyle, while eliminating his heartburn. 

The long working hours, along with extensive exercise could be too stressful for his body and could be a cause of his heartburn.

He has worked in several different chemical plants and has been exposed to a long list of chemicals. His diet is mostly processed foods and he only eats one large meal per day. His job requires him to be on his feet all day, so he is active on a daily basis. His major health concerns are back pain, sinus problems and severe migraine headaches. She is lethargic most days and has to force herself out of bed in the morning to go to work. Her diet incorporates a few whole foods here and there, but they are not organic. She mostly consumes restaurant foods. Her home life is chaotic and she wishes that she had more time to devote to her faith. What adjustments would this client need to improve her health and vitality?
